Student Union Welcome Week Activities

Bristol Student Union is here to help you have a world class student experience, develop new skills, meet new people and have a lot of fun in the process.

To welcome all our new students for September 2015 they have arranged a wide variety of events and activity so there is something for everyone. Get to know the city, make new friends and get your time in Bristol off to a great start.

 

 

Here are some of the upcoming highlights from Bristol SU for Welcome Week:

  • Saturday 19th September: Silent Disco at the Funfair, 7pm-midnight, Anson Rooms. Indoor fairground in the Anson Rooms – bouncy castle, crazy golf and silent disco. Tickets £5
  • Monday 21st September: Mediterranean Fiesta – Postgraduate Network, 6.30pm-8.30pm, The Balloon Bar. All postgraduates are invited to the Postgraduate Network’s Mediterranean Fiesta Welcome event!
  • Wednesday 23rd September: Cycle Cinema, 6pm-10pm, Balloon Bar. Bring your bike to The Balloon Bar before cycling to a secret Bristol location for a picture show!
  • Thursday 24th September: Café Crawl, 12.30pm-3.30pm, Balloon Bar. Join us on a lunchtime tour around the best cafés that Bristol has to offer. Starting at the Balloon Bar. Tickets £5.
  • Friday 25th September: Welcome Fair, 11am-5pm, Harbourside. You’ll meet loads of people, see lots of amazing acts on our event stages, and you’ll get tonnes of freebies too. And even better, it’s free! Come along to meet all 360 of our societies and sports groups.
  • Friday 25th September: Karaoke Night, 8pm-11pm, Balloon Bar. Dust off those tired vocal cords for a Friday night belting your favourite tunes – and if our in-house band doesn’t know the song, maybe try an a capella version?
  • Saturday 26th September: Underwater Try Dive, 4pm-7.30pm, Swimming Pool – Richmond Building.  Want to try something new? Come along to experience scuba diving for the first time. Cost £5.
  • Saturday 26th September: Local Live Lounge, 8pm-midnight, Balloon Bar. Local promoter Rise introduces a bill of Bristol’s finest bands, in the intimate surroundings of your Student Union bar, The Balloon.
